After a student vote, the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing unveiled new student uniforms for Fall 2023.
Students will no longer wear collared, white zip-up shirts when they start clinical rotations. The new uniforms feature the University of Pittsburgh’s signature blue color with the institutional mark sewn into the sleeve. ‘The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing’ is etched in gold on the front of the uniform shirt.
The new uniforms will be phased in for students. Current 3rd and 4th-year students are not required to purchase the new uniforms but are not permitted to mix and match the old and new uniforms.
Each year, nearly 200 second-year BSN-seeking students begin their clinical rotations proudly donning a uniform identifying them as Pitt Nursing students. The School of Nursing created the Student Nursing Uniform Fund Campaign to supply each of these students with their first uniform.
