Nursing is a field that embraces life-long learning. However, it’s not always possible to move to pursue an advanced degree. So, the School of Nursing has partnered with Pitt Online, the University’s award-winning distance learning platform, to offer a series of programs so that you can earn the degree while remaining at home and in your current job. Your program of study will provide you with the same foundational knowledge and practical skills as our accredited on-campus degree programs.
These asynchronous online programs provide the convenience of learning on your schedule but also allow for ample opportunities to interact with faculty and your peer students. Your classes, taught by the same faculty who teach on-campus, will be provided online through Canvas, a user-friendly learning platform. We provide a suite of collaborative tools such as discussion boards, blogs, chat sessions, virtual classrooms, and groups to ensure that you will experience a vibrant learning environment.
As an online student, you will enjoy many of the same University of Pittsburgh amenities and resources as students residing in Pittsburgh. You'll have access to an academic advisor, 24/7 technology support, the collections and services of the University Library System, and the Book Center.
