The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is proud to announce Yvette Conley, PhD, FAAN, has been named the new Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship.
“There are not enough words to explain how excited I am to be the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship for Pitt Nursing,” said Conley. “This truly is my dream role. I hope to establish an enhanced infrastructure for research in the school that will assist our amazingly talented faculty and students to realize their research goals.”
Conley’s research interests in the field of molecular genetics have been recognized nationally. In 2015, she was selected for the International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG) Founder Award, one of the organization’s highest forms of recognition. In 2022, she was awarded the Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) Distinguished Research Award which is given every year in recognition of sustained and outstanding contributions to nursing research by a senior investigator. Most notably, in 2016, she was recognized as an Honorary Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing – a prestigious appointment held be very few non-nurses.
“I look forward to stimulating new research endeavors while supporting current research in the school, and I’m really looking forward to recruiting new research faculty to join us during this exciting time at Pitt Nursing,” said Conley.
Pitt Nursing is continuously recognized for its research endeavors. Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research ranked the school as the No. 7 recipient of competitive federal research grants received in 2022 among public universities and No. 12 overall after securing nearly $5.7 million from the U.S. National Institutes of Health in 2022.
